  Choose a mobile application with a lot of icons. Compare and contrast that application's iconography to the original Sumerian alphabet, Mayan pictographs or Egyptian hieroglyphics. What's being communicated? What concepts need to be learned? What metaphors are being used? You may limit your discussion to 1 or 2 icons for simplicity. You may include screenshots for comparing and contrasting. Post your thoughts to the class blog. Make sure to select the category Early Writing-Iconography for your post.
